We recommend installing the Force.com IDE on Eclipse 3.3.x. The instructions on this page are for Eclipse 3.2.2.

Installation for Eclipse 3.2.x
The Force.com IDE installs into Eclipse using the built-in Install/Update wizard.
- Launch Eclipse, and then click Help > Software Updates > Find and Install.
- Select "Search for new features to install" and click "Next".
- Add the Force.com IDE Remote Site:
- Click "New Remote Site". The New Update Site dialog opens.
- Set the Name to "Force.com IDE" and the URL to "http://www.adnsandbox.com/eclipsetoolkit/release", then click OK.
- Select “Callisto Discovery Site” and "Automatically select mirrors”, then click “Finish”. Eclipse will search the selected sites for the required plugins.
- When the Updates dialog is displayed, select "Force.com IDE" and, under Callisto Discovery Site > Web and J2EE Development, select "Web Standard Tools (WST) Project". Also click "Select Required" to ensure any dependencies are downloaded.
- Click "Next", then accept the terms and click "Next" again, then click "Finish". Eclipse will download and install the selected features, including the Force.com IDE. When installation is complete, Eclipse will prompt you to restart, click "OK".
- Once Eclipse reopens, select Window > Open Perspective > Other and select "Force.com", then click "OK".
You are now ready to develop and customize Force.com applications in Eclipse!
Installing Previous Versions of the Force.com IDE
If you would like to install a previous version of the IDE, follow the updating instructions above but deselect the checkbox for "Show the latest version of a feature only" in the Update Manger install page.
