This handy tool lets developers browse their schema, custom objects and fields, and build and test SOQL queries.

Source code is included and can be found in C:\Program Files\salesforce.com\Apex Explorer 8.0\source (where C represents your installation drive).

Click Apex Explorer to begin download.

Installation

1. Download file.
2. Unzip file to a temporary directory.
3. Execute ApexExplorer.msi
4. Walk through the wizard.

At the end of the installation, a folder named salesforce.com will be created in your Start Menu "All Programs" tree. In this folder will be another folder named Apex Explorer x.0 (where x represents the version of Apex Explorer you are using) that contains the actual executable.
