Developers@Dreamforce is the annual conference for Force.com developers, and the highlight of the conference is its in-depth technical content, delivered by some of the most expert Force.com developers in the world. Developers@Dreamforce '06 delivered more than 20 sessions across two tracks, covering the latest new technologies and providing traiing, essential information, insider tips and tricks, and development best practices across a variety of categories. State of the Union

• State of the Union - The annual State of the Union provides an essential update on the vision and direction of the Force.com. Through feature overviews, demos and guest presenters, the new capabilities of the platform will be introduced and explored, with focus on the new business and technical opportunities for developers they enable. The session will also provide an overview of all of the Developer@dreamforce activities throughout the conference.

• Intro to Force.com: Building Native Apps - Ready to get on The Business Web?™ Join us to get the nitty-gritty details on how to develop full-featured business applications with the native building blocks of the Force.com platform. Some familiarity with the administrative capabilities of the AppExchange is suggested to get the most out of this presentation. (Session Type: AppExchange Essentials)

• Intro to Force.com: Building Composite Apps - Take full advantage of The Business Web!™ Learn how to extend your native AppExchange app using the Web services API. Leverage S-controls, Web controls, and Web services design principles to enhance your Force.com application. Some familiarity with Java or a similar programming language is suggested to get the most out of this presentation. (Session Type: AppExchange Essentials)

• Business Mashups: Best of the Web APIs - Force.com has always been a powerful platform for creating mashups, and the new platform features make it more capable than ever mixing Internet services. This session will provide an introduction to some of the more popular Web APIs, including API's from Google and Yahoo, and show how they can be leveraged inside of your Force.com apps. Presentations will include sample code showing demonstrating these services, as well as example mashups.

• Turbo-charging Force.com with Rich Apps - Learn how to rapidly deliver Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) built from the ground up on the Force.com platform. Hear real-world case studies of ISVs, SIs, and IT organizations that are already leveraging rich UIs for competitive advantage by delivering Web 2.0 applications native to the Force.com.

• Demystifying S-Controls and AJAX - Create sophisticated composite Force.com apps without the need for external app servers. Learn what S-controls are and how to build them using AJAX. Some familiarity with JavaScript and HTML is suggested to get the most out of this presentation. (Session Type: AppExchange Essentials)

• Inside the Enterprise: Case Studies of Customer Apps - Not sure how the Force.com platform can meet your enterprise application development needs? Join in on this session to see just what kind of apps our largest customers are building. We’ll go over several customer case studies to give you the inside scoop, and you’ll also learn platform benefits from the people on the front line. (Session Type: Community Innovations)

• Packaging It Up: Latest Enhancements for App Distribution - The initial release of Force.com gave you the ability to package up custom objects, S-controls, and other common customizations. This session will cover all the new capabilities we’ve added to packaging to support both publishing and sharing on the AppExchange Directory. (Session Type: What's New)

• Mobile in the Field: Great Apps at Work - Do you know how to build a mobile application? It's easier than you think! Come learn how developers have leveraged AppExchange Mobile to build compelling apps that go beyond mobile CRM. See how developing for mobile can put important processes right into the field. • Deep Dive Into Apex - Find out about the goals and motivations behind the new Apex Language. This deep dive session will give you a good idea of what will become possible with Apex.

• Next-Generation Web Services - The latest release of the Force.com API brings major enhancements to the Web services API, making it faster and even easier to develop and deploy more powerful applications. The Winter '07 release and 8.0 API are packed with incredible features, and next-generation Web services. Come hear how to take advantage of the release directly from our own product experts. • Wielding Workflow - Workflow is a key part of adding intelligence and logic to Force.com apps, and enabling them to support processes spanning teams, groups and entire companies. The session will provide a detailed review of the new workflow features in Winter 07 that greatly enhance and simply the ability to create these process-centric apps by extending the Force.com workflow model into new areas. • Advanced Integration with Web Services - The Force.com platform and popular Web services API make the concepts of SOA (Service Oriented Architectures) real by making it easy to create powerful and robust integrations with other systems. This session will review both the new Winter 07 features and tools for integrations, as well as some of the popular APIs and techniques for connecting to application data and infrastructure. • Next-Generation Native Apps - The native Force.com features that allow apps to be build declaratively and without code a key part of providing the productivity and power developers experience with the platform. • Future of Composite Apps: S-Controls and Beyond - Winter ‘07 S-controls add powerful capabilities for building composite applications on the Force.com platform. • Performance, Optimization, and Tuning for the API - We’re delving right into advanced techniques to optimize your use of the API. Complete with code samples in .Net and Java, this session covers compression, persistent connections, the different API SOAP headers, and new session management in Winter ‘07. Come with your questions and we'll dig for the answers. This session assumes working knowledge of the API.

• PHP and Rails with AppExchange - PHP and Rails are two of the hottest technologies around for developing Web applications. Learn how they can make developing AppExchange applications fast and easy. This session covers the latest toolkits for PHP 5 and Ruby on Rails. (Session Type: AppExchange Essentials)

• Out of Bounds with AJAX - Go beyond the user interface constraints of the Force.com platform using the Force.com AJAX toolkit. This session provides advanced S-control development techniques that include inline or detail page hosted S-controls; using third-party AJAX libraries like Dojo and Atlas; and optimizing performance using the new functionality in SOQL combined with the new Force.com AJAX toolkit. • Out of the Box: Portals and Web Sites Powered by Force.com - Who says that Frce.com applications get to have all the fun? Portals and Web sites can also benefit from using the Force.com platform for content management, authentication, and self-service support.
